
Mr. Mayefsky graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1978 after receiving his B.A. degree summa cum laude from Cornell where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Lambda Phi. In more than 30 years as an attorney, Mr. Mayefsky has had extensive trial experience, including successfully trying to conclusion some of the largest equitable distribution cases in New York.
Mr. Mayefsky is the President of the New York Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, as well as a member of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the New York State Bar Association (Executive Committee of the Family Law Section). From June 2004 through February 2006, Mr. Mayefsky served as a member of the Matrimonial Commission that was appointed by Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye. The Commission's findings were reported in February 2006 and are now the basis for improving litigation in both Family Court and the Supreme Court. Mr. Mayefsky has lectured and written on numerous topics in the area of family law. He is the author of a law review article on the Constitutionality of Section 516 of the Family Court Act, which limits the ability of a mother of an illegitimate child to modify an agreement on child support that proves to be inadequate, while not so limiting a mother of a legitimate child.
Judge Beeler was a New York State Judge for more than 20 years specializing in divorce law cases. Judge Beeler has conducted numerous high conflict divorce trials and settled many others through his skills as a mediator. Judge Beeler is also very knowledgeable about every type of issue related to a divorce including grounds for divorce, the equitable distribution of property, spousal maintenance (alimony), child support, parental decision making, parenting plans for access to children, post-divorce relocation and the drafting and validity of separation and pre and postnuptial agreements. Judge Beeler has presided over many high profile contested divorce cases and published numerous scholarly family and divorce law opinions.
Judge Beeler holds a degree from Harvard Law School, J.D. cum laude, New York University Law School, L.L.M. in taxation, and a B.A. magna cum laude from University of Michigan Phi Beta Kappa. Judge Beeler has many certifications and awards which range from New York Super Lawyer 2010- New York City Metro to being appointed by the New York State Appellate Division, First Department as Special Master to mediate appeals in divorce law cases. Judge Beeler also holds professional memberships in New York State Bar Association- Family Law Section, New York County Lawyers- Matrimonial Law Committee, and New York State Council on Divorce Mediation.
